John Calvin--The only man whose last name I don't mind adding an "ism" to.

Whenever we see ourselves as weak, we should not concentrate on our own frailty, but should gaze--both eyes--upon God's glory.

Rebellion . . . My Favorite Pastime

I officially hate emoticons! I have no reason accept that I saw a t-shirt that said something like, “ Boycott Emoticons.” Besides, they’re getting too trendy for a nonconformist like me. That brings up the whole question of weather or not I’m REALLY a nonconformist since I was kinda forced into the role because of who I am. BUT THAT’S NO EXCUSE!!

As you, my devoted readers, have probably noticed, my emoticons are usually backwards . . . except the smirk. It’s hard to do backwards. It looks deformed. P: see. Anyway, I’ve done my emoticons backwards since the sixth grade and just refused to change when I realized I was wrong. I wish I could say it was a deliberate act of rebellion against the trendy, conformist tendencies of my peers. But it wasn’t.

The truth is, I used to love emoticons. That is, until by brother’s x-girlfriend started writing e-mails with a happy face after every sentence. But I got over it. So the real reason for this new crusade to wipe out emoticons is . . . um . . . lack of areas in my life in which I can rebel!

However, crusades must happen slowly. That way one can help the public accept the new idea before you ask them to embrace it. So I’m going to try some very odd emoticons from now on. Be prepared.

Ok, I’ve really got to get back to doing something constructive. Thank you for allowing me to exercise my rights as a rebellious American teen.

A Tribute to My Ma-Anne

In the course of conversation I ended up reciting a wealth of information on the life of one of my favorite Eponines, Ma-Anne Dionisio. I was immediately reprimanded for my stalker-like knowledge. So, in order to clear my name, I will prove that this information is at everyone’s disposal, and that I did nothing too illegal to discover it. Here are some of my favorite sights for Ma-Anne.

Is It a Quote from Prof. Dummer?!

Mr. Blume: What's the secret, Max?
Max: The secret?
Mr. Blume: Yeah, you seem to have it pretty figured out.
Max: The secret, I don't know... I guess you've just gotta find something you love to do and then... do it for the rest of your life. For me, it's going to Rushmore.

(Max Fischer--Rushmore)

Now Substitute Rushmore for Simpson (heehee).
